The Beneteau First 375 was designed and built in France.

37 1/2 feet long or 11.43 meters

This is important, she is certified as a blue water race boat, you could race her to Hawaii, or a casual cruise to Catalina. Since she was build in France she had to meet all the standards in europe, since she was sold in the US she also had to meet all of the US standards. She is a strong yet a very fast boat.

When The Beneteau First 375 was designed, Beneteau had two lines of sailboats. The First series was build for speed and still had the comforts that you expect in a preimire sailboat, a galley, head, and comfortable sleeping room for 4, dining table, nav table etc. They also had the Oceanis line that concentrated more on comfort and less on speed. This has changed over the years and if you purchase a new Beneteau you can pick from the First series 14' to 27' strictly for racing and not cruising and the Oceanis from 36' to 55'.

If you would like a First 375 you have to purchase a used one and that is why they are keeping their value.

The First 375 was designed with a shallow keel or a long keel. Moustique has the long keel, it is better unless you sail in Florida/Bahamas. With the longer keel she can go higher into the wind.

The deck layout is superb. 5 or 6 people can comfortably sit in the coockpit.

Below deck is very nice, the woodwork is top of the line, A 6'+ person can walk around standing up. It comfortably sleeps two in the forward V berth and two in the aft cabin. In a pinch 3 can also sleep in the main cabin.

Moustique started her life on the great lakes. She was moved to San Francisco where I purchased her. I sailed her in SF bay and coastal waters for 6 month and I then sailed down to Marina del Rey. On the way down we hit a big storm by Point Conception, we never had any doubt that she could handle what mother nature dished out.
